Founded as a professional safety inspection and consulting service in 1969, Cox & Smith Risk Management takes pride in its exemplary record of developing and implementing high quality customized safety and loss prevention programs for a variety of industries. While we provide Safety Engineering services, customized safety program design, loss prevention program management, and insurance value appraisals, our primary operation remains underwriting surveys for all commercial lines of coverage.

Cox and Smith offers a strong team of highly trained Loss Control/Loss Prevention Specialists with years of experience in both loss prevention and the application of sound safety engineering practices. Each of our Loss Control Specialists undergoes continued professional development to keep pace with our advancing industry.
Every underwriting survey completed by our field staff is closely reviewed for both form and content before submission to ensure our continued excellence in both reporting and analysis. We welcome and encourage your feedback as a measure of our mutual success.
Every member of our field staff, regardless of experience and past loss control training, is evaluated on their technical ability as well as their general knowledge of coverage, exposures, hazard analysis, and hazard control. Working knowledge of the following areas is required before deployment in the field:
